How this Soulmate Calculator works
Four steps, and the fourth is the only one that is different from the other calculators here.
1Both names lose everything but their letters
Spaces, punctuation and capitals stripped out Nicknames and full names give different answers, because each other spelling is an input of its own .
2The pair is put in a fixed order
Sorted before anything is calculated, which is why it makes no difference whose name you type first. One couple, one answer.
3One hash runs over the pair
The same hash the rest of the site uses, producing the same number between 12% and 99% that your full report would show.
4That number picks one of four answers
90% and up is Soulmates. 75 to 89 is as near as makes no difference. 50 to 74 is something real without the myth. Under 50 is not this story.
This means this can never clash with anything else here. The love calculator would provide the same number as a percentage and the Love Tester would reduce it to a yes or no — three readings of one score, not three opinions. See the same score as a percentage, or as a yes or no.
What each answer means
90–99%Soulmates
The most clear this scale gets. The letters have put you two right at the top of it and there is no hedging reading of that figure. Go be insufferable about it.
75–89%As near as makes no difference
Not the top of the scale, and close enough that the difference is academic. This is the number most couples that would call themselves soul mates actually get.
50–74%Something real, just not the myth
Comfortable on the good side minus the fireworks. Plainly worth saying: The soulmate story is a story, and a great many long, happy relationships live right here.
Below 50%Not this story
The letters are not giving you the soulmate reading. That’s a fact about two names, and nothing else — it has not met either of you, and plenty of the best relationships would score exactly this.
What the extra fields do
This one asks for more than two names: a gender, a birth date and where you would place the relationship right now. All optional and none of it affects the score.
What it does instead is dress the result up. A birth date gives an age next to a name, a relationship status becomes a label on the card, and the whole thing reads as yours instead of output. The number below is the same number as two bare names would have made it, and we prefer to say that, rather than let a longer form suggest a cleverer answer.
What happens to what you type

Soulmate calculator FAQs
Can a calculator really tell me if we are soulmates?
No, and it's worth being blunt about it. It reads the letters in two names and nothing else. Doesn't know how you met, how you argue, or if either of you is happy. Accept the answer as a verdict in a game, not as data about your relationship.
Is this the same score as the love calculator?
Identical. On this entire site, there is only one number for each pair of names. The love calculator shows it as a percentage in 6 bands . The Love Tester cuts it to yes or no . This one answers the soulmate question with 4 . None of them can disprove the others.
Do the birth dates and relationship status change the answer?
No. They are optional and cosmetic — they put an age next to a name and a label on the card, and that is all. The score comes from the two names, and it would be identical if you left every other field blank.
What counts as a soulmate score?
90% and above is the unambiguous one. 75 to 89 is close enough that the difference does not mean much. 50 to 74 is a real match without the mythology, and under 50 is the calculator declining to tell you the story you came for.
Why do we get the same answer every time?
Because nothing random goes into it. The same two names produce the same result today, next year, and on someone else's phone — which is the only reason a result is worth sending to anybody. Refreshing will not change it.
Can two people have more than one soulmate?
The tradition says yes. It’s one of the few places where the soulmate and twin flame stories clearly contradict each other — a twin flame is supposed to be singular, a soulmate is not. This calculator takes no position on the question. You can throw as many pairs of names at it as you want, and it will score whichever two you give it.
